George's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of George "Georgie" Cardoza, who left us on May 31, 2023. Born on July 11, 1970, George was known for his warm, friendly, and happy personality. He was a man who touched the lives of many and his legacy of kindness and laughter will long be remembered.
George had a passion for skiing and enjoyed the serenity of cruises during his vacations. Over the years, his career spanned various industries, with positions at Mykinos, Raytheon, Jenkins & Ploud Fine Furniture, Newport Preservation Society, and Newport County Mental Health. His dedication and commitment to his work were evident in every role he undertook.
George was predeceased by his loving parents, Patricia F. Carmen Cardoza and George L. Cardoza Jr., as well as his nephews Joseph J. Gore and Jeffery A. Poe. He is survived by his sisters Karen Chafton and Carol Cardoza, brother-in-law Claywell Chafton, nephew Thomas Gore and his wife Denise Gore, and nephew Claywell Chafton III. Each of them holds a special place in their hearts for the remarkable person George was.
The family and friends of George Cardoza will miss him immensely. His love, laughter, and kindness will forever be remembered. As we come together to mourn his passing, we also celebrate his life, cherishing the moments we shared and honoring the man who brought joy to so many.
