George's obituary

George Edward Beahan, Jr. died on July 16th, with his son and daughter at his side. He was born on June 7th, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois to George and Jeanette Beahan. He attended Elk Grove High school where he met his future wife Roxanne Crow. They were married on March 11th, 1978. He attended Southern Illinois University and Harper College.

It was important to George that his livelihood make a difference in the lives of others. For 30 years he served as a firefighter in Wheaton, Illinois. Also, for decades he helped people find relief from pain through massage therapy and rolfing. Even in his passing, George gave others the gift of life by donating his organs.

George was always committed to health and fitness. He was a member of his high school Gymnastics team. Later he took an interest in competitive bodybuilding and took first place in the 1992 Midwest Police and Fire Bodybuilding Championship. He loved cycling, kayaking and exercising outdoors.

In 2016 Roxanne was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Their struggle with illness drew George and Roxanne closer together and drew both of them closer to God. George delighted in surprising Roxanne with vacations to Hawaii, the Bahamas, and other destinations. During that difficult time both George and Roxanne took refuge in prayer, Bible study and getting involved in their local church. As a profession of faith, George was baptized in the Gulf of Mexico in October of 2020.

George is survived by his daughter Rachel Beahan, his son Jeremy Beahan and his wife Jennifer, his Mother Jeanette Beahan-Dudek and his sisters Jeanette Ross and Nancy Krause.

A memorial service will be held in George’s honor on Saturday, October 7th at Williams-Kamp Funeral Home 430 E. Roosevelt Rd. Wheaton, Illinois. Visitation will be at 10am followed by a memorial service beginning at 11:30am. All friends and family are welcome to attend.
