George Huntington Babcock passed away peacefully to the Lord on January 23, 2022 at St Francis Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO.  His family and friends were praying for his recovery, but the Lord called him home.

George was born in New London, CT where he grew up and attended school thru his high school graduation in 1956.  He went on to earn his degree in Mechanical Technology at Wentworth Institute in Boston, MA.  His mother, Adelaide Chappell and his father,  George Hermann Babcock were both residing in New London, CT.  George met his wife, Shirley Matweeff while she was attending the School of Nursing at Massachusetts General Hospital.

George worked in his chosen field with his first employment at Electric Boat Co.  Shortly after, he moved into Purchasing for United Engineers, and later Ebasco Co.  He was later offered a position with the City of Marietta, GA as Purchasing Manager.  He and his wife Shirley moved their family to Marietta, GA where he lived and worked until his retirement.  Shirley remained in her nursing career until her passing in 2001.

George then retired to Hatteras Island, NC until 2003, when he moved to Lake Monticello, VA.  He lived in Virginia until 2016 and then moved to Colorado.

George is survived  by his 4 sons and their families.

George Babcock Jr and wife, Janie are located in New Mexico at the Texas border.  They have three grandchidren and two great grandchildren.

Frank Kevin Babcock and wife, Paula reside in Warner Robins, GA.  Kevin and Paula have three children, Devon, Jordon and Zoe.

Christopher Scott Babcock and wife, Carol live in Macon, GA and have two children, Thomas with fiance, Monica, and Adelaide.  

Andrew Shepard Babcock and wife, Cory reside in Powder Springs, GA.  Their two children are Adam and Catherine.

George was predeceased in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Matweeff Babcock, who passed on November 28th, 2001.
