I hadn’t heard from George for a while, and was saddened to find his obituary online.
I worked with George for 20 years. Quite often, before work George and I would sit and spend a few minutes “solving the world’s problems” as we used to say. It was always an enjoyable way to start the day.
Thoughts and prayer to Nancy and family. Rest in peace, my friend.

I met George and Nancy, while our boys participated in Fridley sports together. As the years went on, Joe and I were lucky enough to spend time, inside and outside of sporting events, with the Andrews. Your welcoming, humorous, supportive, genuine, kindness, made a deep and meaningful impact on both of our lives.
George, I will always be so very grateful for the positive role model you were for Joe, growing up. You hold a special place in our hearts.
May you be resting in peace. You will be missed.
Nancy, Josh, Hannah and family, may your beautiful memories fill your hearts with peace, as you grieve your loss.

Was so saddened when told of George’s passing. Remembering the many evenings on the baseball fields watching Josh and my son John playing ball. Will keep Nancy, Josh ,Hannah and his loving family in my thoughts and prayers as they weave their way through these difficult days ahead.

I first met george when our sons played basketball together in third grade. My first impression was that of a towering, strong, opinionated ,proud loving father. This understanding of him had never changed. Because of union with Nancy so many wonderful gifts have come to this earth. Had a chance to visit with him a few weeks ago and shared a giant hug before parting. I remember him still as a towering ,strong ,proud loving husband, father and grandpa. Will carry him in my heart forever just as he would for all of us if the tables were turned. Goodbye just for now dear friend.

I was so sorry to hear about George. He was my cousin. I remember when his family visited us in Seattle. One time we were catching grasshoppers in a plastic jug and tried to make them pets. George and I were 10 or so and his brothers younger than that. The magic of youth ❤️. Karen Andrews

George (affectionately known to me as “Georgie”) and his family are family to us. So much time and so many fond memories spent at school events, as well as time our families just spent together will forever be with us. George would often share and teach me gardening and cooking tips, and Mike and George could recap any school basketball or football game as if it just happened yesterday. It was clear what his passions were; family, food/drink, cooking, photography, gardening, and sports. His passing weighs heavy on our hearts. Words cannot express the deep sadness we are feeling, nor appropriately convey our deepest sympathies to his family. We love you all very much and will miss George so very much. We are grateful our paths have crossed, and fortunate to have known George all these years.

My heart is heavy. The news about George is still not seeming real. So many wonderful memories of times spent with my brother-in-law who was always happy to see family and welcome them into his home and make sure nobody went hungry. From his iconic fishing vest stuffed with everything from a cell phone to extra bacon, he was a great guy. I have heard the many adventurous tales of when George, Jeff and Don were growing up and all the crazy things they found to do but boy did they have a grand time together. I am grateful for the time this past August when all the Andrews siblings were together at our family gathering. I can still see George carrying in cooler after cooler, there must have been 5 or maybe 6, one dedicated just to ice! George you will be missed so very much by so many. I am blessed to have had you in my life. You are very loved. May God wrap his loving arms around you and bring you peace and everlasting life.
