Georganna Gentry was so many beautiful things. She was the loving mother of Jenny (Gentry) Ashcraft and Travis Gentry, and an accepting mother-in-law to their spouses, Jonathan Ashcraft and Andrea Gentry. She was a proud Grammy to Jonathan, Tommy, Lucas, and Megan Ashcraft. Georganna was also a devoted sister to Tommy Joe Barrow, Cynthia Rowland, and Father Gabriel Barrow. She loved her dogs, Sophee and Gracie, so very much.

Georganna was born in Houston, Texas, on December 12, 1955. At just 18 years old, she took a trip to Toledo, Ohio, where she happened to find work at Jeep. What began as a simple step turned into a lifelong career; she went on to dedicate more than 30 years of her life to Toledo’s Jeep factories before enjoying her well-earned retirement.

She will be remembered not only for her hard work and loyalty, but also for the kindness and friendship she freely gave to everyone who called her “friend.”

After a brief but courageous battle with cancer, Georganna passed away on October 2, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Though she has left us, her love and legacy live on in the many lives she touched. We are all better for having known her.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Faucett Funeral Home in Manistique, Michigan. Visitation will begin at 9:45 a.m., followed by the service at 12:00 p.m. The graveside committal will take place at 2:00 p.m. and a meal to follow.
