2009, Rescue Coordination Center Norfolk/D5 Command Center Portmouth VA
Geoff and I worked together 2009-2013 at Rescue Coordination Center Norfolk/D5 Command Center I was the Command Center Chief and I learned so much from him, I always understood search and rescue from the perspective of an operator but, what I learned from the policy side from Geoff was jaw-dropping, he had such a passion and commitment Geoff applied to every single search and rescue case spoke to the core values of the Coast Guard: Honor, Respect and Devotion to Duty. Additionally, Geoff was a true sailor in every sense of the word, from his days picking up traps out on Long Island, or as a Quartermaster on the CGC Dallas. I am honored to have called him a friend and co-worker. I will miss him greatly. Fair Winds and Following Seas.

I knew Geoff for many years and worked with him in Search and Rescue with the Coast Guard. I am frankly stunned at his passing. Such a giant among us. Rest easy brother, we have the watch.
For 39 years this sailor stood the watch, While some of us were in our bunks at night. This sailor stood the watch. While some of us were in school learning our trade, this shipmate stood the watch. He stood the watch for 39 years. He stood the watch so that others may live. So our fellow countrymen could sleep soundly at night in safety. Knowing this sailor stood the watch. Shipmate the watch stands relieved. Relieved by those you trained guided and led.
We have the watch.
Rest In Peace Geoff

Good evening from Azores,
I meet Geoff through the NAMRCC Conference calls and later I was one of the lucky persons who had the opportunity to meet Geoff face to face.
Geoff helped me a lots and teach me a lot from SAR ... he was my SAR bible for any doubts at any time, always available. Always pushing and motivating with his words...
Lucky me, I take my opportunity to tell him how great and amazing human being he is... We had a great connection since the beginning, as if we always met.
Our world lost a great man, but he will kept alive in our memories.
Rest in peace my friend Geoff.
Condolences for the family and friends from MRCC Delgada.
Thank you very much to all.

I had the chance to meet Geoffrey following a group that gathers all maritime rescue coordination centres from each side of the North Atlantic ocean. Not only was he a great professional, totally committed to SAR matters, but also someone with a huge enthusiasm and certainly with a great heart. All my thoughts to his family and colleagues who lost a great man.

Fond memories of actually preparing him and the bridge watch breakfast before Special Sea Detail. He said I was not a bad cook for a lowly BM. You will be missed shipmate.
