Genevieve Galiano Matherne passed away on Monday, July 17, 2023. She was born in New Orleans, LA on May 30, 1948.

She is survived by her children, Joseph A. Matherne, Jr. and Justin M. Matherne (Brandi); her grandson, Tobias Matherne. She is also survived by her brother, Louis L. Galiano; and a niece whom she thought of as a daughter, Lynn Matherne and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Mary Bernadette Monistere Galiano and Anthony Joseph Galiano; her siblings, Philip D. Galiano and Josephine G. Holley.

She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Ms Matherne was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Loranger. Genevieve was a retired Supervisor and Purchasing Agent for Stone, Pigman Corporate Law Firm.

The family expresses their deepest gratitude to the care provided by Hospice of St. Tammany Parish Hospital.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington Louisiana on Friday, July 21, 2023, at 11:00 AM with visitation on Friday beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow in Garden of the Pines Cemetery.
