Geneva's obituary

We regretfully announce the passing of Geneva "Judy "Blake  of Freeport, NY on November 24,2021. Geneva was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully.

Our mother, Geneva was one of the strongest most courageous bravest kindest women to ever walk this earth and our family was blessed to have her as the head of the family. Geneva graduated from VEEB Vocational Nursing School in 2000 with a degree in Nursing. After graduating, she went on to pursue a career in Nursing at Holly Patterson  for year until she was ill .

In the early 70's, she met George (Uno) Ortiz and together they went on to have 1 child, and later and remarried Douglas (Doug) Blake. Geneva was a wonderful and loving mother who gave her all to her family. We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her. Geneva was predeceased by 9 siblings. She is survived by two sisters Conchita and Catherine Oritz, three children Thornton Travaughn "TT" Ortiz, Elise "LeeLee" Ortiz(Micca), Jasmine Blake(Latik), 6 grandchildren Asante, Tariq, Khaleeq Randolph, Kashmir Smith, Amiyah and Amiri Medina. 1 great-grand Siani Randolph and a host of other family and friends she loved.

You Never said I'm Leaving

You never said goodbye

You were gone before we knew it

and only God knew why,

A million times I cried

if love alone could have died

In life I loved you dearly

In death I love you still

In our hearts I hold a place

that only you can fill

It broke my heart to lose you

but you didn't go alone

as a part of me went with you

the day God took you home. -Poem by Amiiee

WE LOVE YOU
