Gene Rosaline Farquharson, a beloved member of our family, passed away on November 2, 2025. Better known to many as "Nana", Gene was born on July 1, 1956, and lived a life characterized by her open generosity, humor, protective nature, and wit.

Gene consistently demonstrated her commitment to nurturing the younger generation. Her legacy is a testament to the countless children she poured into and tirelessly supported throughout her life. Her influence has been a positive force not only in her immediate family but also in her wider community. Invariably being recognized as Teacher of the Year on several occasions, Gene's dedication to education has had a far-reaching impact on many young lives.

She imparted valuable life lessons to those around her, the most impactful being to trust in God, regardless of circumstances. This deeply ingrained faith guided her and served as an inspiration to all who knew her.

Gene is survived by her sons, Ryan Williams and Kevin Farquharson, her sisters, Derlina Solomon-Lumsden and Rosemarie Wynter, her brother Godfrey Wynter, and her husband Collington Farquharson. Her nieces, Toriann Lumsden and Addyson Wynter, her nephew Aryon Wynter, only aunt Unice Hamilton, along with a multitude of cousins, friends, and former students who were touched by her generosity and love are also left mourning her loss.

A viewing for Gene will be held on December 5, 2025, at 5:00 PM at Grace Funeral Chapels. Her life will be celebrated at 9:00 AM at Gateway Church the following day during her funeral service. We will honor the remarkable life that Gene led and the powerful legacy she leaves behind.

Gene's warm love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to the welfare of others will be sorely missed. Her memory will live on in the hearts and minds of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
