Gil's obituary
Gaylord "Gil" Leon Sarver, a man of integrity and dedication, departed this world on May 5, 2024, in Matthews, North Carolina, at the age of 80. Born on November 23, 1943, in Baltimore, Maryland, Gil was the son of Beuford J. and Julia E. Sarver.
Gil's life was marked by service and commitment. He proudly served in the US Army Reserves from October 1961 to January 1969, demonstrating his loyalty to his country with honor and distinction.
Professionally, Gil was a co-founder of Paramount Die Company, Inc., currently based in Abingdon, Maryland. His entrepreneurial spirit and mechanical expertise helped shape the company's success, leaving a lasting impact on both his colleagues and the industry at large.
In addition to his military and professional career, Gil was well regarded throughout the community and a devoted family man. For 54 years, he shared a deep and enduring love with his late wife, Melinda Sarver, who preceded him in death. Together, they navigated life's joys and challenges, building an extended family legacy.
Gil's memory will be cherished by his children: Karen Reardon (Tim), Jeanette Sarver, and Greg Sarver (Scott), as well as his brother, Douglas Sarver (Sue). He will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren: Jeffrey Woods, Lauran Ayres (Cole), Makayla McFadden (Brandon), Amberlin Singleton (Zach), Breanna O’Dell, Meghan Sarver (Tyler), Emily Waddell, and Jacob Waddell, along with his five great-grandchildren: Adalynn, Killian, Willow, Weslee, and Penelope.
In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Gil was preceded in death by his sisters, Joann Murray and Sandra McCarty (Buddy).
