Gayle's obituary

Gayle Ardith Talhelm, 87, went to Heaven on June 6, 2025 after a short illness. She was born January 23, 1938 to Lovell and Mable (Bracket) Peterson in Sears, Michigan.

Gayle went to Evart High School in Evart, Michigan where she met and married Kirk Talhelm on November 15, 1954. They later moved to Flint, Michigan, then to Flushing, Michigan where she spent the remainder of her life. She loved watching airplanes take off and land in her back yard at the Dalton airport.

She is survived by her former husband Kirk Talhelm, siblings Carlos Peterson, Duane Peterson, (wife Paula) and Darlene Joy Schroeder (husband Jerald), her 4 sons Kenneth Talhelm (wife Sandy), Timothy Talhelm (wife Mary), Scott Talhelm (wife Diana) and Anthony Talhelm (wife Valerie) 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Norma Arlene Reedy, her brothers Darrell Allan Peterson and Dale A Peterson.

Gayle loved to cook, making the best dinners for family and friend gatherings. She was especially famous for her cinnamon rolls, apple pies, and a multitude of other deserts - the best you ever tasted.

A memorial will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025 from 3 to 5pm at the Flushing Dalton airport meeting hangar, 3400 Anne Drive, Flushing, MI 48433.
