Gayle's obituary

It is with hearts full of warm and comforting memories that we share the death on June 2, 2018 of our beloved Gayle Etre. She left so many on this earth that will forever carry her in their hearts- her husband Robert Etre, her sister Janet Nichols and her daughters, Jennifer Hanks and husband Christopher, Emily Ekstrom and her husband Michael as well as her step-son Chris Etre and his wife Crystal. Her life and love will also be eternally cherished by her adoring grandchildren Gabbie, Gracie, Bella, Marcus, Mia, Branden, Kirsten, and Brad.

To comfort us all in this time of heartache, instead of being consumed with grief let us instead close our eyes and imagine a day in her life in heaven...

When she wakes up she will head out to her front porch to breathe in the crisp fall air while she drinks Dunkin’ Donuts coffee from her Mary Engelbreit mug and looks out over her perfectly tended to garden. She will then head out to meet her mom Alice and sister Margie for a breakfast of apple pie and cheddar cheese. They will hug, talk, and laugh while they lovingly look down, watching over all of us who miss them so deeply. The three of them will then head out for a long day of craft fair shopping. When she heads home it will be to feed her puppies- Sam, Samantha, Harley, Davidson, and Molly before preparing a feast to be shared with all of her loved ones that made it there before her. They will dine on Grammy’s Daisy ham, Auntie’s seafood casserole and her Chicken Parmesan. When her company is gone she will settle in for a relaxing evening filled with beading and knitting. When she finally turns in for the night, she will lie her head on the pillow happy, content, and her heart full while Johnny Mathis and Barbra Streisand Christmas songs lull her into a peaceful sleep.

May we all think of her forever enjoying days like these and be comforted by the pure joy she will eternally be filled with.
