Gayla's obituary
Gayla Marie Glander, 66, of WheatRidge Colorado, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024. She was born on December 22, 1957, in Albia, Iowa, to Robert and Donna Parks. Gayla's life was marked by her deep love for her family and her unwavering dedication to those she cared for.
Gayla is survived by her children: Eric, Elton, Emily, and Erin Fry; Bobby Glander; and her youngest daughter, Melissa Brown, and son-in-law Matt Brown. She was a proud and loving grandmother to 14 grandchildren: Mandolin, Ivy, Aedan, Sophie, Haylee, Brycen, Skylar, Harper, Courtney, Kaden, Natalie, Emmett, Connor, and Scarlett. Each of her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she cherished every moment with them.
She is also survived by her brothers, Steve and Pat; her sisters, Robin and Jana; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members, all of whom will miss her deeply.
Gayla is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Donna Parks; her brother, Kenny; and her younger sister, Kathy Hunt.
Gayla spent the first 27 years of her life in Iowa, where she raised her first four children. In 1984, she moved to Colorado, where she welcomed her final two children and made it her home for the remainder of her life. Her love for her family, her kindness, and her resilience were constants that shaped her family’s lives in lasting ways.
Gayla will be forever missed, but her love and spirit will continue to live on through her family and friends.
