Gay Lynn's obituary
Though her life was cut short due to her long battle with cancer, she lived a truly remarkable one filled with amazing journeys and a family that loved her dearly. She grew up all over Texas and was a magnificent artist and a loving, selfless mother and grandmother.
After graduating from Grapevine High School in 1977, she put her art skills to work in the ad department for RadioShack and later for New Woman Magazine. She then took the lead providing for her family as well as countless others by putting her amazing talent to work traveling from show to show selling her masterpieces to people all around the world and putting a smile on everyone's face that she encountered.
She loved her family with all of her heart and was a truly remarkable person. She spent the majority of her time the last decade being "Nana" to her six grandchildren who were her pride and joy. She will be missed dearly.
She is survived in death by her son Matthew McNew, his wife Kayleigh Garber, of Arlington, their children Bella, Zoe, and Dax; her daughter, Kristin Shamblin, her husband Eric, of Mexia, and their children Caleb, Ethan, and Derek; her brother, Keith Rester; sister, Susan Rester and her husband Danny Miller, along with countless family members and adopted family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bradford, parents Richard and Jean Rester, and her younger brother, Randy Rester.
There will be a family memorial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Limestone Cancer Support Group, who was so helpful during her long battle with cancer.
