It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gavan "Gav" Smythe on April 13th. Gav was a loving husband to Liz and a devoted father to their children, Olivia and Elliott.

Born on 24th April 1976, in Dublin, Ireland, Gav spent his formative years in the city before moving to Australia in 2008 to pursue his career. A passionate person who loved nothing more than spending time with his family & friends.

Gav was a talented software engineer. He was well-respected by his colleagues for his innovative ideas and his ability to solve extremely complex problems. Gav was also known for his kind and generous nature, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

Despite his busy career, Gav always made time for his family, and he cherished the moments they spent together. He was a devoted husband to Liz and a doting father to Livvy and Elliott.

Gav will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will remember him for his beaming smile, warmth, endless kindness, his booming laugh, and unwavering devotion to his loved ones. His passing leaves a hole in the hearts of all who knew him, but his memory will live on through the countless lives he touched.

A celebration of his life will be held on Gav's birthday (Monday April 24th) at Times Beach Warung, Chenggu from 4pm, for family, friends & colleagues to celebrate the fantastic life Gav lived.
