Gary's obituary
Gary was born in Camden, NJ. During his adolescent years he lived in South Philadelphia and attended Catholic schools there. He and his family later moved to Collingswood, NJ, where he attended high school, acquiring his nickname “Wirtzie”. It was during his sophomore year at Collingswood High School that he met the love of his life, who became his wife on May 25, 1974. After high school, Gary enlisted in the US Army, and was later honorably discharged due to injuries. He then went on to pursue a successful career in construction, serving as President for various companies throughout the United States.
Gary had an amazing singing voice, and particularly loved the music of James Taylor. He was a very intelligent man, with a passion for Nascar, Baseball, family fishing trips, and computers.
He is survived by wife Karen G. Wirtz (nee Eisenhart), son Carl M. Wirtz, his wife Jennifer, and their seven children- Paige, Emily, Jaime, Keily, Luici, Alivia, and Carl III; daughter Lauren M. DeSilvio and her three children- Dane, Ava, and Dez; grandchildren of daughter Ashley N. Wirtz- Victor, Jack, and Charlotte; daughter Jaclyn P.
