Gary's obituary
Gary Ungerman (1954 - 2025)
It is with heavy hearts we share that Gary Ungerman has passed away in Parker, Colorado, at the age of 70 after suffering a fall from which he could not recover. He passed peacefully at AdventHealth Parker hospital after heartfelt goodbyes from his family and loved ones.
Gary was born in Provo, Utah on December 31, 1954, as the eldest child of Peter and Shirlee Ungerman. After moving around a lot in childhood, the family settled in Montrose, Colorado, where he would meet his wife of 38 years, Dawn Ungerman. The pair moved to Boulder, Colorado, where Gary would earn a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
Gary and Dawn ultimately settled in Aurora, Colorado, with their three children, Zach Ungerman, born in October 1977, Brandy Ungerman, born in April 1981, and Alex Ungerman, born in April 1991.
Gary made his career in concrete construction and was beloved by family and friends. He was a lover of music and his Colorado sports teams - the Buffaloes, Broncos, Nuggets, Avalanche, and Rockies. Where the Rockies play at Coors Field, Gary’s name can be found on a plaque in the stadium, along with his Castle Rock Construction Company colleagues, who helped to build the ballpark.
Gary is survived by Dawn Ungerman, his three children - Zachary (m. Sharyl Ungerman), Brandy, and Alex Ungerman (m. Riella Ungerman), and sister, Janice Tracewell (m. Bruce Tracewell). He is also survived by his niece, Cassandra Ungerman, his grandchildren, Kendall, Landon, Carson, Justin, Ethan, and Hiraya Ungerman, and his great grandchildren, Quincy, Keenan, and Ariya Smith. Gary is preceded in death by his mother and father, Pete and Shirlee Ungerman, his brother, Peter Ungerman, and his nephew, Donie Ungerman.
Additional details on memorial services will be shared in due time, and the family asks for privacy as they grieve and plan a loving remembrance.
