Gary Lee Sloyer

July 21, 1959 – October 24, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Gary Lee Sloyer announces his passing at Anaheim Regional Medical Center in Anaheim, Orange County, California on October 24, 2024, at the age of 65. Gary was born on July 21, 1959, in Topeka, Shawnee Co, Kansas, to Irvin “Bus” Clyde Sloyer and Norma Lee Kippes Sloyer (White). He was a beloved son, brother to William, Julie, Larry, & Lori, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Gary was born in Topeka, Kansas but grew up in Harbor Hills, Ca. His family moved to Garden Grove, Ca while he was in highschool. It was there, at Garden Grove High school, that he met his first wife Christine Faith Des Rochers. They were wed in Anaheim, California on April 4, 1981. He later met and married his second wife Lana Marie Castro Yohn in Las Vegas, Nevada and resided in Riverside, Ca until her passing at Long Beach, Ca in early January of 2013. He was a beloved father figure to Lana’s Grandsons, Treston and Jason, raising them in Riverside, Ca.

A man of great joy and enthusiasm, Gary was known for his love of his family, football, music, barbecue and dancing. Whether wishing a stranger good morning, sharing stories and finger drumming to rock music over a long drive, or simply playing darts in the garage, Gary leaves lasting memories in the hearts of everyone he loved.

Gary is preceded in death by his Father, Mother, Step Father Ken White, Step Daughter Jessica Yohn and his wife Lana Marie Castro Yohn Sloyer. Survived by his daughter Crystal Hansen, Middleton Idaho, son Jeremy J. Sloyer, Meridian Idaho. Step daughter Angela and Grandsons Treston Creech and Jason Creech. He leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Following cremation, a celebration of life will be held in Southern California at a later date. Gary’s family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to all who have shared in his life, offering love, support, and friendship throughout the years. His legacy will live on through his grandchildren and the many lives he touched.
