It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of my father, Gary Shanebeck, a much-loved family man and friend. Gary passed away on May 11, 2024. Born on March 10, 1951, Gary blessed the world with 73 years filled with his kindness, good nature, and unique sense of humor.

His inherent kindness and quiet spirit left a lasting impression on the hearts of those lucky enough to have known him. His was always friendly and welcoming to everyone, and was always up for spending time with family and friends.  Gary was known for his quiet demeanor, yet he possessed an irrepressibly funny sense of humor that could lighten the atmosphere in any room. His good natured personality was a beacon of joy to those around him.  

One of the greatest joys of Gary's life was his children. His immense pride and love for them were evident to all. He loved all things having to do with history, flight, and all kinds of sports.  He enjoyed sharing his interests with his family,  and especially, his grandchildren. 

Gary will be deeply missed but forever remembered by his family and friends. His memory will continue to live on in each life he touched, a testimony to a life beautifully lived and a person deeply loved. He will be remembered as a loving father, a cherished brother, a loyal friend, and a man who had a heart full of grace and goodness. His absence leaves a void that can never be filled, but his spirit will forever be present in our memories.

Our hope is family and friends will use this memorial page to share memories, stories, and pictures of Gary; and that we are able to find some peace in reminiscing the wonderful moments we shared with him.  May he rest in peace.
