Tie the season that my dad loved the most. The next weeks would consist of watching The Christmas Story on repeat. He would play his favorite holidays songs that I have been playing quite frequently. My dad loved Christmas. He loved that stinking movie didn’t matter how many times he watched it. I’ve been having a lot of younger age memories fill my thoughts lately and the smile is shining. Dad I don’t know how to celebrate this time of year without so I’m going to do all your favorite things this year.
Last night we lit the candles on a cake and choked my way through singing happy birthday to my dad. All day yesterday the smell of his cologne filled my nose. It was a great feeling however my dad’s cologne always gives me a headache. I used to have to come home and wash up and change clothes after hugging him. I didn’t do that last night however because I wanted that smell to stick around. Happy heavenly birthday dad. I love you

Ever since my dad passed away I've been sporting a moustache in memory of him. I've literally never had a moustache by itself in my entire bearded life. Today I'm shaving it off on his birthday as a send off of sorts.

I've still got so much processing to do around my Dad and our relationship, this won't be my last moustache. It acts as a fond reminder of him, someone I'll never forget.

Love you and miss you Dad.

Tim,

Thanks to company picnics, the same taste in music and Tshirts , and our dads' wild-guesses that we'd make great friends based on those few things, I'm proud to say to this day that our dad's were right. Many years later I worked with Gary. I enjoyed "talking" (complaining, whatever) to him about our projects, and admittedly loved it when he'd talk about you, too. My parents and I are thinking of your dad, you, and your family today. Love you, buddy!
