Oh my goodness I’m not much with words but I need to say how much I truly love Gary and Kris.. in our little musical jam sessions I will miss hearing Gary and kris singing along together .. you could tell they did a lot of singing around the house or in the car together.. they were always laughing and happy.. he’d play until his fingers hurt too bad then he was done!! My heart hurts for you Kris and the whole family.. I love you ❤️ ~Robin
The world in general and my world in particular have been made better because of Gary Reynolds. He was a man full of integrity and without guile. His life was a quiet sermon of the Savior. Gary loved God and his fellowman. He saw the good in people and was able to draw that out.
He loved Kris and his family. He was kind to people. He listened and looked for ways to serve. He loved music and shared his talents in singing and playing guitar with so many.
I will miss seeing him walk with Kris down the halls of the church (carrying her bags). I will miss seeing him cleaning the building early on a Saturday morning. No service was beneath him, no assignment was minor. I will miss seeing him reach out to the youth as he attended camps, countless sports events, and plays. He was there for them, he was there for everyone.
I heard someone say this last week they were sad that he and Kris had not been able to serve a mission. I would say he has served a mission with Kris, look at their lives together and the good they have done. He has received an honorable, early release.
Gary was such a happy & kind man! When we moved to Ellensburg, Gary was one of the first people to come introduce himself and welcome us to church. Our family always enjoyed hearing his words of wisdom that he shared. Gary & Kris are forever kind & loving with their words, actions, & famous waffle dinners. We are so blessed to have known Gary. Dear Reynolds family, please know that you are in our thoughts & prayers! We love you! The Pearson Family

I don't think I ever saw Gary upset. He always had that easy-going half smile, was quick with a joke and always positive. I had the opportunity to work with him in church, and if there was one word to describe him it would be "dependable". I could always count on Gary to come through. If there was a need, he was the first to volunteer. If he was given an assignment, it was completed.

His testimony, which he shared often, was powerful and was always accompanied by the Holy Ghost. I will always be grateful for the example he set and for the words of wisdom he shared. He will be missed by myself and my family. The Reynolds family holds a special place in our hearts. We love you all!
What a great man! I remember I spoke in church not long ago and Kris and Gary took my little Brooklyn under their wing during that service. She was so well behaved during the whole meeting, I asked Gary what his trick was and he said "undivided attention!" True words of wisdom that I have tried remembering with all my kids. He was a very kind man and was always offering to help anyone at any time! We love you Reynolds family! ❤️

I once had the opportunity to go on a horse ride with Gary, an activity he engaged in whenever he could fit it in. Many family and friends have gone on rides with him, but this was my first experience. We loaded up the horses and headed up a canyon to an area he had picked out. I had two horses growing up and missed the opportunity to go on rides, so was really looking forward to the experience.

Once we unloaded the horses and got set up, we started up a road. This lasted just long enough for the canyon to open up, and we immediately departed the road. Gary explained that his ideal ride involved avoiding any roads, trails or paths. He liked to wander off into the woods for a good while, then find his way back to the start.

We had a delightful ride, chatting about whatever came to mind and enjoying the pleasure that comes from the combination of being on horseback, feeling far away from anyone else, and taking delight in exploring the unknown. It was a pleasant break from the pressures of life and a refreshing shared experience.

When the time came, we wandered back to the start, which he found without much difficulty. He had a very solid sense of direction, and calmly guided us back.

I have reflected on this trip multiple time. It was both a trivial activity and a rather meaningful experience for me. Many of my experiences with Gary were like there. We worked together in the church and connected outside of church with the various activities that our kids/grand-kids were involved in. I deeply appreciated his insight and wisdom, and the perspective he was able to offer in a wide range of situations. I also appreciated his calm and thoughtful way, and his willingness to help out whenever he saw a way that he could. He had a very positive impact upon this world and will be missed.
"Happiness is a choice!" Thank you, Gary. I have never forgotten the wisdom you shared in a conversation decades ago.

Christie and I were newly weds and travelling to Chicago from Kirksville, MO and just had to stop by Champaign to visit Gary and Kris and Mashay. They welcomed us with warmth and love. They welcomed Christie into the extended Reynolds family with the ease of happiness and love that they are known for. We love you Gary and Kris and our hearts are full with that love for you at this time.
