Gary's obituary
Born May 9, 1956 in Escondido, California to Faith and Roland Nelson, but Texan by choice, Gary was a resident of Garland for many years before eventually settling with his family in Rockwall. Gary was a graduate of North Garland High School and retired from Southwest Airlines in 2013 as an A & P aircraft mechanic.
Known not only for his contagious smile and genuine kindness, Gary was an avid musician with a deep love of guitars and drums. Armed with an endless supply of one-liners, this family jokester also had a keen talent for finding, “A helluva deal!”
He leaves behind his wife Therese Nelson, and is survived by his mother Faith Sickles, his three sisters Pam Cantu, Karen Webb, and Lou Ann White, his daughters Nichole Cole and Courtney Pringnitz, his three sons, Bryce Reed, Caleb Nelson and Corey Nelson, five grandchildren, numerous cousins, uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews, and his beloved canine Cruze.
We were blessed and privileged to experience his overwhelmingly generous spirit, we celebrate his life, but mourn his passing. A private celebration of his life will be held with his close family and friends. A very special thanks from our family to caregivers from Centric Hospice.
