The most fun I had with Pastor Gary was every year at the annual picnic playing volley ball. It was like our thing. I sure do miss him!
His love for his church family-no matter the situation
In response to "What act of kindness did you witness from Gary?"

We first met Gary, Diana and their wonderful family over 31 years ago. Gary was a wonderful pastor with a family that is just as loving.
I could tell you a hundred stories of all of the things Gary did, to influence lives. But to us, the most important thing is how he spread the Gospel to thousands of people. Even as far as the middle east where a video of one of his sermons made it there.
Gary professed his love of Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for ALL of us with LOVE. No other word can describe how much he loved God. You could see it on his face and hear it in his words. And see it in his actions.
To us, all other pastors pale in comparison. Yes, Gary was just a man, but he was God's true servant in every aspect of his life.
And, we truly miss him. We were blessed to know him.
We most probably will not be able to come today, due to recent injuries (we both have had fall injuries), but our hearts and spirits are with Gary's family/ the church family as they celebrate Gary's life.
God Bless all of you!

On our special day, our pastor wore the tie I favored!
No matter what was going on in the world, Gary always shared words of encouragement with everyone he encountered including myself. He is greatly missed!

I was going through a separation and came to the church to attend with my mom. I asked Pastor Gary if he had the time to answer some concerns. He always had the insight and time for me and my family. I dont know how I would have made it through some of my toughest times if he wasn't there to lean on. I knew if he prayed there was strength in that prayer. My prayers are with the family and Dianna and the church.

Pastor Marquez has served four generations of the Eghtesadi family, including baptizing, teaching, preaching, marrying and burying our family members. He is a giant among men and we are eternally grateful to him and the Marquez family for their friendship, love and caring of our family. Sending prayers and love to the Marquez family for this huge, untimely loss to our community. Sandi Eghtesadi and Family

I came to NSBC through a half way house. When I walked into the church, I instantly felt at home. I could never replicate that feeling. There used to be recovery meeting at the church and Pastor sat in on our meetings. Giving guidance through Gods Words. Hitting all the needs to recover from addiction. Praising God all along the way. Pastor asked me to give my testimony at church one night. It was a powerful night. I opened myself up like never before. Since that night, I always felt as if Pastor Gary was my surrogate father by the way he spoke to me. Correcting me when I needed correcting. But always, ALWAYS in a loving manner. I just miss Pastor so ever much. I wished I had the chance to let him know how much he meant to me. And how much it helped me knowing he was forever in my corner fighting for and with me. Because of how Pastor treated me (with kindness and respect), I've been able to grow in the Lord and not bow to the devil. I will be forever grateful for Pastor. For his beautiful heart. His tender soul. He made me feel like family. Until we met again, Pastor Gary, enjoy all the bacon possible before I come home. Because once I get there, watch out! ☺ I miss you tremendously. You are my hero.

Our hearts were overwhelmed by the prayers for our granddaughter, Aaliyah when she contracted Guillon-Barre Syndrome and lost her ability to breathe on her own and to walk. Thru the power of the Holy Spirit and the constant prayer of Pastor Gary and our church, she was completely healed. She was healed by God, and a caring loving church's' prayers. All led by a wonderful Pastor Gary.
We miss him so.
On another note, when Gary baptized my wife, Elena, she was not cooperative. It ended up his wading boots were flooded.
He took it all in stride; left the church and went home to change his clothes. He came back smiling and continued with services.
