Gary's obituary
Gary Anderson, born November 18, 1939, in Kewanee, Illinois sadly passed away December 12, 2018 in Sun City West, Arizona. An honored and loved father, Gary's memories will be tenderly embraced by his sons, Lance and Lloyd Anderson. His personal and professional ethos, marked by resilience and dedication, continue to inspire his loved ones.
Gary grew up on a farm near Tiskilwa, Illinois. He attended Tiskilwa High School where he lettered in 3 sports (baseball, basketball, and football). He graduated in the Spring of 1958 and then attended Nothern Arizona University for approximately 2 years. He then embarked in career in Radio and Television broadcasting, a career he would remain in until his retirement. Gary did it all working as a Disc Jockey, Reporter, Sportscaster, News Anchor, News director, Assistant Station Manager, Station Manager, and Station Owner. In the early 1960's, he had the privilege of interviewing John F. Kennedy and Barry Goldwater.
Gary's passing marks the end of a well-lived chapter, yet his spirit will shine eternally in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. His life’s journey, although ended, shall live on in the stories told, lessons learned, and the love generously shared.
Gary is survived by his sons, Lance and Lloyd, and by his sister, Helyn. He was preceded in death by his father Lloyd, his mother Neva, and his sisters, Jean, Peggy, and Nancy.
