Gary's obituary
Gary Hauck, a devoted Christian, loving husband, proud father and grandfather, and undisputed champion of dad jokes, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, at the age of 74.
Born with a toolbox in one hand and a pun on the tip of his tongue, Gary spent his early career in various blue-collar roles, where he learned the value of hard work, integrity, and a well-timed one-liner. He rose through the ranks with determination and skill, eventually becoming Director of Engineering with Stanford Hotels—a position he held with pride and the same steady hands that once fixed everything from leaky faucets to family crises.
Above all, Gary loved the Lord and lived his faith every day. He found joy in simple things: his family, a good cup of coffee, and making people groan with jokes so corny they circled back around to hilarious. Whether it was “Why don’t skeletons fight each other? They don’t have the guts!” or a perfectly timed pun at the dinner table, his humor was a gift that lightened hearts and brought smiles even on tough days.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Diana; his children, Robert, Jennifer, and Jason; and four cherished grandchildren. Gary’s greatest legacy lives on in the faith he passed down, the work ethic he modeled, and the laughter he left behind.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests sharing a dad joke in his honor—or better yet, telling one to someone who needs a smile. Gary would have loved that.
