Having lunch at restaurant on Tampa Bay

Dear Family of Gary,

I did not know Gary long but was blessed to share thoughts with him during a Zoom support group for people with cognitive decline.  He was a kindred spirit who lived a full and interesting life, had a keen wit and such a  kind character.  It was a pleasure knowing him, if only for a brief few months.  His soul may be gone, but his spirit remains.   Please accept my condolences.

Gary was the best baseball coach and friend one could have. We had many a deep conversation about life and love usually while listening to Joan Armatrading. He loved us Lesbians and I’m convinced he was one in a past life. Fly free and be whatever you want lovely spirit. My condolences to Jennifer (Git Berry) and condolences to those that never got to meet this incredible man. 💞💜💞💜

Don't sweat the small stuff. He was always so mellow.
In response to "What did you learn from Gary?"
After my sister Cheri died, my mother always, always, always made sure to include Gary (and of course her granddaughter Jennifer) in all family holidays, even when Jennifer had flown the coop.  The endearing thing about Gary is that my mother soon realized she would have to tell Gary the starting time of the event was an hour earlier than she told the rest of us.  That way she made sure Gary arrived on time!
