Gary's obituary
On May 1, 2023, Gary Kent Geoghegan passed away after complications from a stroke at 80 years old. Gary was born and raised in Baltimore City, Maryland. He had 5 siblings (2 sisters and 3 brothers). Gary spent most of his life working as a general contractor, owning his own business. He put so much heart and pride in his work and his work ethic was passed on to his children. He was a kindhearted man who would do anything for anyone in need, and family was everything to him.
Gary loved playing golf, collecting golf clubs, and golf balls. He was a member of a golf club where he had many friends that were like family. Some may not know that Gary was a talented artist. He loved to draw and most recently picked up a hobby of painting. Cartoons and landscapes were often the subject of his pieces. He also more recently got into puzzles, specifically 3D puzzles. He loved spending time with his family and later in life his favorite place was at the baseball field watching his grandsons play ball. He was quite easy to spot at the ballfield, as he often carried a huge beach umbrella with him. He also loved to watch his granddaughter dance and was very proud of her grace and talent. He loved animals, especially dogs, and they were often drawn to him too.
Gary is survived by his wife, Glenda; son, Lito and daughter-in-law, Nicole Salgado; daughter, Gina and son-in-law, John Earle; brother Carl "Pat" Geoghegan and sister-in-law Margaret; brother Dale Geoghegan and sister-in-law Diane; 7 grandkids; 1 great grandson; goddaughter Tina Geoghegan; and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, 3 June 2023 at 11am at Magothy United Methodist Church, 3703 Mountain Road, Pasadena, MD 21122. Food/drinks will be offered immediately following until 3pm.
