So sorry about Gary. He was always cutting up and just a joy to be around. We’ll be praying for you all
Sorry for your family's loss. Gary had a great smile and loved his family. Great with his grand children and enjoyed his step daughter Sienna's company. My God heal you hearts as time goes on. He would want you to be happy. Our love goes on for you and yours.

When I think of Gary, I think of the many hours he and Benny spent on building & grounds projects at church. Gary visited Benny at the rehabilitation center after all the complications of his surgery. Benny just  started crying when he walked in the room. Gary was a hands on guy and always thinking of others. I smile when I think of him and Benny together again. There’s a celebration going on in heaven!
Gary was a go getting and great football player. Condolences to his family!!
So sorry to hear about Gary Darnell. Gary was a great player and teammate. My first year we went against each other. I was a receiver and he was a DB. They moved him to offense my second year and he played both positions with great passion!
Gary was offense at Elon and I was defense.; The differences never came between us in practice or off the field.  I loved his sense of humor and he was quite a skilled ball player for whom I had great respect.  I enjoyed his company and his wisdom and thoughts were so well structured and enjoyable in conversation.  Gary will be sorely missed, and my prayers go to Kathy for her comfort while grieving her loss.  God takes care of us in these times, and he answers our prayers.  My best to you, Kathy, and to the children.
We grieve with you and all your family with the passing of Gary from this physical body to the eternal one- we have the assurance of receiving when we meet the Lord. Gary was the best 💖 love Tom and Kasper

Gary and I graduated together, and I was always fond of him. I'm so glad I got to see him at our reunion last year. Looked just the same as when we were in school. My prayers are with you and the family, and we have the assurance that Gary is with our LORD, and we will see him again.

Kathy, I am so very sorry to hear of Gary’s passing.  He always had the nicest smile on his face~ just want to send my deepest sympathy to you and your family , I’ll keep you all in my prayers🙏🙏🙏
Without the help that I received from Gary, I don't know where I would be today. Gary helped me realize there are great people out there that want nothing but to see you thrive. My heart breaks for Gary's loved ones, continued prayers for comfort and love
Gary was an inspiration.  He helped me as a client at Graceworks and later we worked together to help others at Graceworks.  He was always a testament to God's teachings.  He believed in giving a hand up to everyone so they can help to better their situation.   Then will be able to go on and to give and hand up to others.  When Gary called you it was always to see how you are doing, how could he help,, or if you could help another in a situation you maybe familiar with.  He will be missed so very much.  But he left behind a large group of people who know how and want to help others.  Thank you Gary for all you have done and thank you for being there anytime you were needed even that was just an ear or shoulder.
So sorry for your loss Kathy! Praying for you and your family!🙏🙏

Despite the potentially disastrous circumstances leading up to the event, Gary radiated great joy as he danced with his youngest daughter, Amy, at her wedding. That's the type of human Gary was, Christlike, outwardly focused, and joyful! This has for a long time been a personal favorite memory I've been fortunate to capture with my camera. I'm grateful for the longstanding friendship with all the Darnell family, and am so thankful they moved to our small hometown in Tennessee.
Sending condolences to Gary's family. He was such a great classmate at Elkin High School. I always enjoyed watching him play football. He was so talented.  I hope wonderful memories of Gary will help to ease your pain of the loss  of this dear man.
My heart and prayers go out to Gary's whole family.  I was a classmate at Elkin High School and thought the world of Gary.  He was always so nice to everyone and so positive...and a great football player! I wish you peace and comfort as you grieve.
