Gary Sr passed away December 19,2024 with family close by his side. He is preceded in death by parents George and Mary Cope and siblings Lawrence and Wayne. He is survived by spouse Patricia whom he married 26 years ago and shared many happy memories and a full life together. He leaves behind children; Ashley, Jessica, Gary Jr, Shawn and Michael. Grandchildren; Autumn (J), John (J), Branden (J), Christopher (G), Amy (G) Jennifer (M) and Melody (M). He is survived by siblings; Teresa, Janice, Charles and Michael and nieces and nephews; Keith (T), Michael (J), Jordy (J), Christian (C), Kelly (T), Jamie (C), Justin (C), Mary (G), Georgie (G). Extended family from both Kentucky and Ohio.

Gary Sr was raised in the heart of the Appalachia, attended Jackson County High School (KY) and began his long career in construction which was his pride, he used his skills to build charity homes across the country, volunteered in disaster areas to help rebuild homes destroyed by storms. He retired from construction work after 38 years as he like to mention "only because the ball and chain made me slow down".

Services will are being handled privately as follows:

Sunday December 22, 2024 private immediate family viewing 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. (the family ask that you please respect this time and not arrive early).

Sunday December 22, 2024 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. public viewing and family support.

Monday December 23, 2024 viewing to begin at noon Gary Sr did not want a "funeral" simply friends and family gathering to show support for each other and share stories and memories, he demanded "no cryin' and snottin'" and made the family promise this up until his last day with us. Burial will follow when family is ready (no set time at this moment, the family will allow everyone time to share and visit).
