Gary's obituary

Gary Wayne Chandler of Dayton, OH passed away in Hospice Care on May 21, 2021. He was born on December 7, 1950 in Dayton, OH.

Gary has gone to meet his wife, Jenny Chandler, at the gates of Heaven. He is also proceeded in death by his loving grandparents, John and Mona Chandler; his daughter-in-law, Angela Chandler; and very close friends Butch Terrell, Dewight Oaks, Nina Edinger, and Margaret Graves.

Gary is survived by his daughters, Mary (Deb) Brown, Mona (Don) Woodward, Bobby Chandler, and Mikayla Cox, whom he acted as a father figure for for many years; his sons, Scott Chandler and Gary Ray Chandler; his grandchildren, Dorothy (Brian) Chandler, Kate (Robert) Cook, Jenny (Wes) Woodward, Donnie Woodward II, Chelsea Chandler, Matt Violet, and Dustin Chandler; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Coehick, Harper Newland, Kyle, Landon, and Braelynn Cook, Aniyah Harris and Brayden Keeton; and close friend Margaret Woodward.

Before Gary retired he worked for Hotopp Excavating for 25 years and was a very talented excavator. He was a grumpy old man, but he did love spending time with his family. He enjoyed his news and coffee in the morning, and also all day long. Gary was loving grandfather and he will be deeply missed by everyone.

Family will be having a celebration of life, in place of a service, on Saturday, May 29, 2021 from 5pm-8pm at 6585 Fishburg Road, Huber Heights, OH 45424. Anyone who wishes to pay respects to Gary and his family is welcome.
