Gary's obituary
Gary Dale Blackshear, 69, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2023 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on Thursday, September 17, 1953, in Harlingen, Texas, to Lawrence Dale Blackshear and Madelyn Pearl Hertel Blackshear of whom have preceded him in death.
Gary was also preceded in death by a daughter, Keri Lynn Blackshear; brother, Steven Blackshear and stepmother, Liz Blackshear. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Sharon Blackshear, children, Kristal Wuensche and husband, RJ, Calvin Blackshear and wife Janey, Jimmy Church and wife Janet, and Jeanne Perkins and husband Clint; his grandchildren Zane Wuensche, Caden Wuensche, Cooper Blackshear, Evelynn Blackshear, Scott Sadler, Paige Highfill and husband Cameron, Lexee Church, Ethan Ramirez, Eric Ramirez, and Eli Ramirez, great-granddaughter, Lyla Grace Highfill, along with numerous other loving family and treasured friends.
Gary served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the American Legion Post 393 of Cleveland. He loved his online card games. He was a devoted husband who loved his wife, and was so proud of his children, grandchildren, and smitten with his new great-granddaughter. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Montague Church of Christ, 15151 FM1725, Cleveland, Texas 77328.
