It is with a heavy heart to announce the passing of Gary Allen Johnson 78, on July 24th 2024. Gary fought his illness up to the very end. He was surrounded by his family as he passed peacefully to go be with the Lord.

Gary was born in Utah on March 1, 1946 to Allen and Garldine Johnson. Gary is survived by his two children Gary and Cathy and five step children Steven (Deborah). Elizabeth (Damon), Norma (Allen), Nancy and Larissa (David). Many loved grandchildren, and blessed with great grandchildren as well. Gary is also survived by his sister Mary Jo and brother Richard, his Aunt Kathleen, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Gary in death are his parents, his wife Irma Johnson, several aunts and uncles.

Gary finished school and served his country in the army and secret service. Gary then pursued a career in engineering. In earlier years, Gary enjoyed his exotic saltwater fish. Even landing an article in a newspaper for his beautiful collection. Later in life Gary fell in love with "sand duning". He joined a Jeep club and later played an important role in the American Sand Association. 

Gary will be dearly missed by many. Memorial Services will be held at 9:30am, Friday the 9th of August at Avenidas Funeral Chapel 522 E Western Ave. Avondale, Az 85323
