Garry's obituary

We remember Garry "Gare and Pops" Mcquillan, who passed away on December 9, 2024. Born on December 18, 1959, Garry made his mark on the world through his warm, loving, caring, and funny nature.

Garry leaves behind his ex-wives, Tammy Crawford and Lorrie Ross, and his beloved children, Jeremy, Christopher, Pamela, Krystal, and Tj. He shared a special relationship with his children, always striving to instill in them the importance of respect and hard work. Garry's legacy will resonate through his five children and nineteen grandchildren. His parents, Eugene and Virginia Mcquillan, preceded him in death.

An accomplished professional, Garry started working at Mark Wendt in 1990. His dedication to his work was evident and admired.

Garry was a man of varied interests and tastes. He had a soft spot for brownies, and his drink of choice was ice tea. He loved the music of CCR, Stairway to Heaven, and Flatfoot Mac. As an avid sports fan, he enthusiastically supported the Raiders and Dodgers. He also found pleasure in watching Viking movies and playing Yahtzee.

Garry's favorite past times were grand. He enjoyed long distance bicycling and had a fondness for the color blue. His other recreational activities included riding his bike, fixing things for family and friends, attending his grandson's football and baseball games, and camping and fishing. He lived his life full of generosity, driven by the belief that a stepdad's role was to step up and parent one who needed parenting, treating step-children and step-grandchildren no different than his biological kin.

To sum up, Garry was not just a warm individual, but also a man who believed in the joy of giving. He would readily share his last dollar with anyone in need. His laughter, generosity, and teachings will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
