Garry's obituary
Garry Wayne Everhart, age 67, of Mocksville, NC, transitioned into his Heavenly home while surrounded by his loved ones on Monday, March 30th, 2026. Born on May 11, 1958, in Winston-Salem, NC, to Connie John Everhart and Rhoda Loretta Harris Everhart, Garry was a devoted and loving husband, father, and “Pa”.
After 43 years of service, he retired from Hanes Dye and Finishing where he had worked as a mechanic. He was a faithful member of Hope Community Church for 35 years where he helped with numerous building and renovation projects, including helping to build the current house of worship. He also served as an usher there for many years.
Garry’s favorite things were spending time with his family and helping others. He was a “jack of all trades” and could fix anything. He had a brilliant mind for fabricating things and could build or create anything imaginable. He freely used all of these talents to help family and friends in whatever capacity he could whether it be in home improvement projects, fixing lawn equipment, building items for his churches yearly vacation Bible school, or a host of other things. In the few moments he would rest, you could find him in his favorite place, the back porch he built. But his greatest joy in life was being a Pa to his grandbabies, whom love him so very much.
He is survived by his wife, Stephanie; his daughter, Kelli (Rob); his bonus daughter, Melanie (Carson), his four grandchildren, Belle, Ava, Owen and Noa and his brothers John and Dan Everhart. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Penny Miller.
A celebration of life will be held at Hope Community Church located at 4660 Brownsboro Road, Winston-Salem, NC on Monday, April 6, 2026 at 6:30pm. The family will receive from 5:30-6:15.
