Born in Camden, New Jersey on October 10, 1945. Early education through the Palmyra, NJ school system and later attended Cheyney State College where he was initiated into the Delta Pi Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated on March 15, 1968. With wife June, they were avid bowlers and awarded Laurel Lane's 2000 League Runner Up. Gardy served as Commissioner of the South Jersey Softball Association for 20 years. Retired as an award winning Chef with over 42 years of service with Host Marriott and also gained recognition as top grossing rest stop of the James Fenimore Cooper Plaza on the NJ Turnpike. Gardy leaves behind to cherish his memory; wife June Lanier-Pratt, children Deedra L. DePalma, Garland Neal Pratt II, Cherie Lanier (Reginald Hudson), Gary N. Cortez and Nina Pratt.
