My condolences to Garland's family and friends.  I've known Garland ("William Malo" because of silly facebook actions) from many years of discussion on the internet of the blues, and Chicago and Chess blues in particular.  I always enjoyed our conversations and will miss chatting.  Rest in peace, mate.

Garland asked me to go to a concert with him i thought it was a R&B concert it was a country and western concert. We were the only blacks at the concert. His tickets were front row. It was a Charlie Daniels after the concert  Garland said we were going to Charlie bus that he knew Charlie's manager .I be dam he did we visited with Charlie and had a drink with him .Only Garland my first and only country western concert.
