Gail's obituary
Gail Maurine (House) Puckett, born September 21, 1951 in Stillwater Oklahoma and passing on September 20, 2023 at her home in Oklahoma City. Gail grew up as the oldest of three sisters, and became the wife of one man, James (Jim) Puckett, mother of one son, grandmother of three girls, and friend to everyone she met. She was beautiful, adventurous, thoughtful, stubborn, bossy, gifted in seeing others and making them feel loved. She taught everyone around her to embrace their weird and see beauty.
Gail lived for a time in Puerto Rico, Dallas, Honolulu, and Houston, before settling in Oklahoma City. She was a graduate of NW Classen High School and the University of Oklahoma, receiving her Bachelors and Juris Doctorate. Professionally she worked as a model, a courier, an entrepreneur, and ultimately a Mediator for the FAA. Upon retirement she was a tireless advocate for the needy, the marginalized, as well as a volunteer at Second Chance Thrift Store.
Gail loved to travel, loved a good meal filled with wine and laughter. She loved to play games, talk to anyone, and help those around her. She loved her family and was always there for her granddaughters. Gail is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jim, and sister, Susan Belcher. She is survived by her son, Chad Puckett, his wife, Cindy, and three granddaughters (Madelyn, Rachel Kate, and Caroline), a sister, Diane Ogle, her family, four nieces and nephews, and cousins too numerous to list.
Gail Puckett was a fighter in wonderful (and sometimes frustrating) ways. She beat alopecia, then took on breast cancer. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, GG, family, and friend. The world is a little less loud and certainly less kind without her. She valued her autonomy until the very end. She will be missed.
