Gabriel's obituary
March 24, 1953 – January 25, 2021
Gabriel Panganiban, age 67, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2021. Gabe will be deeply missed by his wife Helen, his children Jonathan, Melissa, and Eric, his brother Joey, his sister Marian, and many other family and friends.
Gabe was born in Quirino, Quezon City, Philippines and raised by Simeon and Emilia Panganiban, along with his siblings Eddie, Dario, Joey, and Marian. He attended Quirino elementary school, moving on to San Sebastian and Immaculate Conception Academy, before completing a degree in architecture at the University of Santo Tomas. Gabe maintained many of his friendships with classmates from elementary to college to this day. In 1975 Gabe immigrated to the United States where he continued his work as an architect, which included designing playgrounds in Daly City, CA.
In Daly City, Gabe was joined with his first wife Fe, and together raised his eldest son Jonathan. In these years, he started his career as an architect at Bechtel. While his marriage to Fe did not last, he would eventually meet his second wife Myrna, and together raised Melissa and Eric in El Sobrante. Gabe was a loving and supportive father that was always there for his children. More recently, Gabe moved to Southern California where he married Helen. Together, they refined his cooking, enjoyed international dramas, Broadway productions, and traveling the world.
Gabe was best known for his selflessness, humor, and loving personality. He did not hesitate to lend a helping hand, never asking for anything in return. He had a knack for bringing laughter and joy to any situation. Most of all, Gabe was devoted to his family and friends, inspiring love and happiness in those around him.
