It is with heavy hearts that we, share with you the passing of our oldest son, Gabriel Mortera, onto glory to be Home with JESUS, on May 15, 2023. Born on September 29, 1992, to Shelby Ward and Monique Mortera Gabriel, 30, was known by many as "YG", lil Mack G, and other terms of endearment by his friends.

A caring man with a big heart, Gabriel is survived by his devoted mother, Monique Mortera, caring father Shelby Ward, loving grandmother Norma "Noni" Stark, loving daughter Mia Gabriella; her mother Kelly Rypkema, his sisters Ali Mortera and Dejonee Hale, his brothers Jaziel, Ezekiel, and Immanuel Crespo, and Deviarion Sellers, uncles, aunts, cousins, and extended family scattered throughout the United States, Italy, and Mexico.

Gabriel was known for his infectious smile, impromptu prayers, his engaging spirituality, his friendly and comedic personality, and his one-of-a-kind charisma. His bright spirit and compassionate nature left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing him, including those he's befriended and made a part of his family. Gabriel's dedication to his family will always be remembered and his memory will continue to inspire those he's come into contact with throughout his life of high energy.

A Celebration of his Life will be held at Alaska Cremation Center, at 3804 Spenard Rd. in Anchorage, AK , DATE AND TIME TBD. Those attending are encouraged to wear Gabriel's favorite color. If you know him, then you already know what it is. 🖤 THE FAMILY REQUEST THAT NOBODY WEAR BLACK as we are not mourning a loss, but Celebrating a Life. We, the family of Gabriel, are holding a fund raiser on go fund me dot com under his name Gabriel Mortera, to cover the costs incurred.
