To the Carter Family.
I know that the void of Fred's presence is apparent . May the words of Alyson Kieda comfort you. "We believe Fred is with God, who knows and loves him. When Fred breathed his first breath, God was there breathing breath into his lungs (Isaiah 42:5). Every breath in between and when Fred breathed his last breath, God's Spirit was there, holding him in love and carrying him to be with Him." Psalm 139:7-10
We miss Fred’s great smile, warm embrace, booming laugh and twinkle in his eyes. He was a gentleman, a good friend, loving husband and father. It’s just not the same without him.

Love- Steve, Patricia and Ben Blessman
Missing my Godfather, Uncle Fred.
Was thinking about you earlier this morning and the reality of this day for your beautiful wife, and children (my Godmother (who I affectionately call Nana), Godsister- Jocelyn and Godbrother - James). I love you all and you're in my continued prayers.
My deepest prayers goes out to the family. Fred was so loved by his old cook county co-workers. When I met Fred I knew I met a strong confident black man. Much love again Mrs Oj Cook County Hospital.
We are so sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Fred surely will be missed.

I met Mr. Carter at 100BMC he was kind and vibrant. He will be missed. My condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones.
I am so sorry for your loss! I know you have wonderful memories of Fred to carry you through this difficult time, as all XU Alum have. Although I only saw him once a year at the XU holiday party, his smile, energy, and loving spirit always made me feel as if we had just seen each other a few days ago. Continued blessings to you and the Carter family.
My most sincere, heartfelt sympathy and condolences to Joyce, Jocelyn and the entire family on the passing of Fred. I have the most vivid, beautiful memories of us in Calumet City back in the day. Working with and for Fred and Joyce at the pharmacy and in their home babysitting. Those are some of the greatest times with truly honest, professional, most genuine people. I love you all dearly! Praying for God's Peace and Strength in days to come. Will connect with you all soon!
I am so sorry for your loss, James. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

My deepest sympathy to The Carter family. Mr. Fred Carter was a servant leader that promoted his beloved alma mater Xavier University of Louisiana on a local & national level. I was honored to help increase membership for the Chicago Alumni association in the late 80's. Fred's voice, smile & laugh are gems to keep as precious memories. May the gates swing open to welcome him.
Fred will be truly missed. The first time we met, Fred and Joyce graciously hosted the pre-wedding dinner at their home for James and Lisa. He welcomed us with open arms and his big smile.
We will always cherish how loving and caring he was. He even helped at Lisa's Castle Family Reunion in May this year.
