Fred was one of my first IETF experiences. With a beating heart I disagreed with him in front of hundreds of people. It was such a positive experience that it built my confidence that IETF was a group of people really making the internet better and safer through pleasant honest cooperation. I am still around doing that, and now myself help guide newcomers. Fred’s influence to make a better internet lives on forever.

Fred was more than a friend. He welcomed me into the Baker home like family. It was a true privilege to know and love him. The memories I have will be cherished and he’ll always hold a special place in my heart. 💛
