Freddie Lynn Charlton September 25, 1946 – October 29, 2024 Freddie Lynn Charlton passed away on October 29, 2024, at the age of 78.
Born on September 25, 1946, Lynn was a devoted family man, a successful business man, and a Vietnam Veteran. He was known for his honorable nature, his natural ability to make every moment livelier, along with his way of telling stories that held your attention and sparked your imagination. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Lynn had a magnetic personality that filled every room with laughter and joy, leaving a lasting impression on his friends and family.
A highly-skilled carpenter, Lynn had a remarkable gift of exceptional craftsmanship in remodeling homes; bringing new life to every space he touched. He also dedicated his talents to restoring and enhancing cabins at his Charlton Pointe Resort, ensuring they remained a welcoming retreat for visitors. His resilience and adaptability were unparalleled—after losing his leg in the war, he approached every challenge with unwavering determination and an indomitable spirit, proving time and again that no obstacle was insurmountable.
Among his younger years he enjoyed fishing and dancing in Houston clubs. He was endlessly fascinating, with a wealth of knowledge gathered over the years from countless articles and his insatiable curiosity about the world. His booming voice, radiant smile, and magnetic personality left an unforgettable impression on everyone he met, making every encounter with him feel special and full of life.
Lynn is survived by his sisters, Patricia Charlton and Ree Charlton; his brother, Gary Charlton; and his daughter, Jennifer Charlton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Freddie Charlton and Oneida Bullington.
Lynn’s legacy is one of love, humor, and perseverance. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the many lives he touched and the memories he created.
A memorial will be held February 22nd at 930 Travis St Columbus Texas 78934. Services will begin at noon.
