Fred's obituary
Fred Anthony Scoglietti Sr., 71, of Mineola, TX, passed away on September 13th, 2022 at his home.
Fred was born on July 7th, 1951 to Michael and Helen Scoglietti in Cleveland, OH. After graduating from South High School he went on to serve honorably in the United States Marine Corp until July 1975.
Fred was a hard-working man from his early days at the United States Steel Mill. He went on to complete training in computers and electronics and began servicing vending machines. He then moved on to a long career in over the road truck driving which he loved and ultimately retired from.
Fred was a Billiards champion and could run a pool table anywhere. Fred loved drinking a Miller High Life or Blackberry Brandy and singing Karaoke at his local watering hole. His favorite songs included Frank Sinatra’s “My Way”, Dean Martin’s “That’s A’more”, and Willie Nelson’s “You Were Always on My Mind”. He was also an avid golfer and fisherman.
Fred was predeceased by his parents, Mike and Helen and his sister Cynthia. He is survived by his 3 Siblings: Michael, Rosalie, and Louise; 6 children: Fred Jr. (Jamie), Holly (Mike), Mandy, Heather, Martin, and Louise; 24 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Fred will be missed by many but he wouldn't want you to be sad he would say "Hey, just build a bridge and get over it".
A celebration of life is planned for November 13th at 3:00pm at the Newburgh Heights Community Room - 3801 Harvard Avenue, Newburgh Heights OH 44105.
A burial service with full military honors is planned for November 14th at 12:45pm at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery - 10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville, OH 44273.
