Fred's obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Fred James Bolton on April 1st 2025, at the age of 85. Preceded in death by his parents Fred C. and Irene Bolton and his late sister, Sharon Lowry. Fred was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Survived by his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth Bolton, his children, Joel and LaNae, and his brother, Tom. He also had nine grandchildren Austin, Alexandra, Isaac, Sheldon, Skyla, Minnow, Sydney, Jay, and one great grandchild Dean.

Fred was born in Minot, ND and graduated from Sherwood High School. He received a bachelor's degree from Minot State. He was a celebrated teacher, and coached basketball throughout his 29 year career, in Kenmare, Hebron, and Halliday.

Fred proudly served in the North Dakota Army National Guard. He was an exceptional saxophonist, playing in dance halls and community events from his school years throughout adulthood. He possessed a deep curiosity and passion for knowledge. He was a diehard fan of the Chicago Bulls.

A private memorial service will be held on Friday April 11, 2025.
