Fred's obituary
It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Chief Fred A. C Asiegbu, born July 30, 1946, who left this world on February 13, 2024. His life was full of purpose and dedication, marked by the qualities of meticulousness, sternness, and hard work. His lessons of diligence and uprightness continues to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Fred leaves behind a large, loving family:-
His sons Mr. Ikenna Andrew Asiegbu and Mr. Chukwuma Innocent Asiegbu
His daughters Mrs. Ifeoma Obidiegwu and Mrs. Uche Vivian Okafor
His daughter-in-law Mrs. Ijeoma Helen Asiegbu
His sons-in-law Mr. Emeka Obidiegwu and Mr. Chidi Christain Okafor
His Siblings, Nephews, Nieces, and Cousins.
Fred was a cherished grandfather to Chimee Victor Asiegbu, Onyinye Sophie Asiegbu, Somto Yvonne Asiegbu, Dabedochukwu Sean Obidiegwu, Nwaifechukwu Audrey Obidiegwu, and Somkenechukwu Fred Obidiegwu.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mrs. Felicia Nwadiogwa Asiegbu.
Chief was a regular attendee at St Louis Catholic Church, Jos, where he cultivated his faith and participated in the community. He was known for his outstanding reading culture, developing and keeping himself abreast with events around the world.
He also had a passion for festivals, finding great joy in the expression of culture and tradition that these events offered. His favorite recreational activity was gardening, an exercise of care and patience that he enjoyed thoroughly. His dedication extended to his work, which he regarded as his preferred way of keeping fit and active.
He took immense pleasure in the simple things of life. Home at Umunnachi was his favored vacation spot, where he found comfort and peace. His palate was inclined towards traditional cuisines, with pounded yam and bitter leaf or nsala soup being his favorite. Chief Fred had a liking for Amstel Malt, savoring the rich flavor, often after a long days work.
He was a philanthropist and a man of remarkable diligence, determination and integrity, thus, leaving an indelible mark on all those who had the honor of knowing him.
May the soul of Chief Fred A. C Asiegbu, rest in perfect peace. Amen
