Franklin's obituary
Franklin Wright Farmer, 78, of Sun Lakes, AZ, passed away on December 16, 2024, after a valiant battle with Parkinson's disease and ALS.
Franklin was born on September 16, 1946. He was adopted as an infant by Willard and Wilma Farmer of Cincinnati, OH. After graduating from Indian Hill High School in 1964, he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati.
Frank had a successful 38-year career in sales & marketing, retiring as the Vice President of Sales & Marketing with Bomat Bonded Materials. After retirement, it wasn't long before he decided to re-enter the work force. He continued to work in sales at Mattress Firm for the next 14 years, just prior to his passing.
Throughout his journey, he embodied the blessings of a personal relationship with his Lord & Savior. As a faithful and devoted member of Risen Savior Lutheran Church, he served as an Elder for many years. In addition, his volunteer work included Board President of United Cerebral Palsy (Wausau, WI), and he had affiliations with the Grand Lodge of Freemasonry (Wausau, WI), Lion's Club, and the Jaycees.
Frank, from a previous marriage, had three children, Christina, Michelle & Bryan, and five grandchildren, Emily, Lindsey, Christian, Samuel, and Andrew. Family was incredibly important to him. In recent years, Frank was able to connect with his biological half-brother, Jonathan, and half-sisters, Alfrieda, Patricia, Melinda, Cynthia, Kristina, and Sue. All were thrilled to welcome Frank to the family.
During his spare time, Frank was an avid reader, golfer, and Green Bay Packer fan. He was an accomplished piano player & keyboardist, and enjoyed listening to music, especially Christian artists. And, if you were fortunate enough, you had a chance to hear Frank sing. Perhaps Frank is best known for his masterful ability to tell a joke. In fact, he was a hit when called upon to participate at a local comedy club in Jackson, TN.
Frank and his wife, Nancy, had a great passion for dogs, totally nine furry friends, throughout their 40 years of marriage. Frank always said that, “dogs are who they are”, and they inspire genuine, authentic connections, which was emblematic of Frank.
Frank was predeceased by his parents, Willard & Wilma Farmer, three brothers-in-law (John, Jim & Ken), and a nephew (BJ). He is survived by his wife, Nancy, his three children, Christina (Billy) of Beeville, TX, Michelle (Jon) of Franklin, WI, and Bryan of Milwaukee, WI, grandchildren, brothers & sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
