Franklin's obituary

Franklin Edward Schohl of Muskegon, known as Bud, went to be with the Lord on November 13, 2025 at age 92. Bud believed in Jesus as his Savior. He knew that Jesus said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5). So, Bud peacefully went to heaven surrounded by his loving family at home.

Bud was born to Henry and Charlotte Schohl in Big Rapids, MI on October 1, 1933. He was a tanker in the U.S. Army's 6th Tank Battalion, part of the  24th Infantry Division, in Korea during the Korean War. Afterwards, Bud attended Ferris State University and became an architectural draftsman.

Bud married Joann (Jo) Emma Stevens on November 8, 1955. Bud and Jo were blessed with 70 wonderful years of marriage, 4 children,  many grandchildren,  great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.  Bud also enjoyed "his children" as he drove the church bus for Sheridan Drive Baptist Church. He is God's faithful, kind servant in many ways.

Bud is survived by his loving wife, Jo; daughter, Sandy Wagner (Jim); son, Don Schohl (Paula); daughter Linda Patton (Jeff); 17 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and 3 sisters. Bud is preceded in death by his son, Dan; great grandson, Hunter; parents; and 8 of his 12 siblings. Bud is deeply loved by his family and friends. He will always be remembered for his love for his family, faith in God, faithfulness, good humor, fun-loving, and much more.

A memorial service will be held at Sheridan Drive Baptist Church at 84 S. Sheridan Dr., Muskegon, MI on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 1:00. Visitation will be at 12:00 with a luncheon following the service. Memories and photos may shared online at EverrestFuneralHomeAndChapel.…
