Frank's obituary

Frank Edward Stewart, May 29, 1976-January 5, 2025

Frank Stewart was an unstoppable force of energy, humor, and charisma, leaving a trail of laughter and love wherever he went. Outgoing and strong-willed, Frank embraced life with an unmatched zest, and those who knew him were forever enriched by his vibrant spirit and magnetic personality.

Growing up, Frank dove headfirst into every kind of sport from diving to baseball, soccer and ping pong (he was a fierce and competitive ping pong player). Together with his best friend since elementary school, Byron, Frank was a lifeguard at Triangle Lake youth Camp for two summers living on location and leading waterfront, field and campfire activities every day for hundreds of kids ages 10-18.

Frank’s deep spiritual curiosity was evident early on. While still in middle school, he walked to church services by himself, seeking connection and meaning. In high school, this journey led him to find a home with the Mormon faith, where he forged friendships, was baptized, and ultimately traveled to Spain for two years on a mission.

After his time in Spain, Frank attended Utah Valley State College where he was highly involved in student council and served as president. But the pull of home and family brought him back to Portland, Oregon, where he met Christie and his life changed forever. Their love story was as unforgettable as Frank himself: in true Frank fashion, they threw a legendary Christmas party in 2003, only to surprise their guests by tying the knot that very night. They built a life filled with love, laughter, and their two sons, Frank Reed and Julian, who were his greatest pride and joy.

Frank loved to get his hands dirty and never had a shortage of projects, whether landscaping, building a stunning deck or crafting a chicken coop. He enjoyed creating a home filled with warmth to enjoy with Christie, their boys, and the countless friends who became an extension of their family.

Always the life of the party, Frank had a unique gift for making people smile. Whether it was through a perfectly timed joke, a hilarious impression, wearing a ridiculous costume or busting out dance moves, his infectious laugh and larger-than-life presence were impossible to ignore. His humor was his superpower.

Professionally, Frank took after his dad with his entrepreneurial spirit. He worked closely with his father at Transport Refrigeration while dreaming of owning his own business. That dream became a reality with the creation of Ready Cool, a venture he started with Christie and friend Gabe. It was a testament to his drive and vision.

Frank is preceded in death by his grandparents Frank and Dorothy, his parents, Rand and Cheryl, his uncle, Scott and his brother, Jeffrey. He is survived by his grandmother, Anne, stepmother Sandi, ex-wife Christie, sons Frank Reed and Julian, siblings Jeni, Todd, Lisa, Michalyn and Nicole and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Frank lived a life bursting with love and laughter. He taught us to embrace every moment, to cherish our connections, and to never underestimate the power of a good dance. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know him.
