Frank Daniel Scandurro Sr. (January 30th 1962- June 15th 2024)
Frank Daniel Scandurro Sr, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully at his home in Jefferson, La on Saturday morning June 15th after a longstanding battle with cancer.
Frank was born in New Orleans, La on January 30th 1962. He would attend Bunch Village and Bonnebel High school as a kid before joining the United States Navy as an Aviation Technician (where he was attached to the squadron VAQ-130 out of Whidbey Island, WA and was deployed on the USS Forrestal (CV-59). After his military service, Frank started as a truck driver/rigger at the family owned business American Machinery Movers Incorporated, where he would work next to and with many family members including Dominick, Dennis, and Louis Scandurro until May of 2024 eventually retiring as Vice President after 40+ years of loyal service and dedication.
Frank was preceded in death by Daniel Scandurro(Father), Lawerence Garland Gann(Father in law), Dominica Ann Cannon(Sister)and is survived by his wife, Tara Scandurro, Cherrie Scandurro (Mother), His children Frank Scandurro(Megan), Julia Scandurro, and Hope Gann(LB), grandchildren Carter Pomes, Delanie Scandurro, and Decker Scandurro, Sisters Sandra Favre(Jeff), Tracey Knoepfler(Glenn) and Tara Kopelman(David). As well as many other loving family and friends.
Frank Daniel Scandurro Sr.’s favorite hobbies were DIY projects and basketball. From Sheds to Covered Carports to expanding office spaces, he loved working and creating with his hands and mind. A hobby that he was able to share with his family and most importantly with his grandchildren over the last few years. In the years before his diagnosis he also enjoyed playing basketball, playing in different Metairie leagues for over a decade.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Elk’s Lounge on Cleary Ave. in Metairie on July 13th from 12pm to 230pm. In lieu of sending flowers the family asks that you donate to The Grandparents Raising Grandchildren of Louisiana.
