Frank's obituary
Mr. Frank Dempsey Sartor, Jr., age 71, passed away on July 3, 2025, in Dexter, Michigan. Born on February 21, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan, Frank lived a life marked by deep faith, vibrant energy, and a heartfelt commitment to those around him.
Frank was the beloved son of the late Martha Broadnax and Frank Sartor. He was preceded in death by his ex-wife Marilyn Sartor; his son Maun Huon Clay Sartor; his daughter Alexis Sartor; his brothers Gary Sartor and Wardell Sartor; and his sister Tracy Sartor.
A proud veteran, Frank honorably served in the United States Army. His time in service reflected his dedication to duty and country—values he carried with him throughout his life.
Frank’s greatest joy came from being a father. He is lovingly remembered by his sons Antonio White, Michael (Heather) Sartor, Joshua Sartor, and Gabriel Sartor; and by his daughters Martha (Eddie) Brown, Monique (Chris) Sartor-Hudson, Alexus Sartor, Stedasha (Joseph) Boyd, Lafonda Jones, and Timnesha Jones. He is also leaving behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends. His legacy lives on through them and through all who were touched by his generous spirit.
Frank had an unshakable faith—he believed in God with every fiber of his being. His spiritual strength was a guiding light not only for himself but also for those who looked to him for comfort and inspiration.
A fun-loving music fanatic at heart, Frank found joy in rhythm and melody. Whether he was driving with the windows down or dancing at a family gathering, he brought life to every room he entered. Music wasn’t just a hobby—it was how he connected with others and expressed the joy that radiated from within him. He loved anything with a beat and never missed an opportunity to sing or dance if it meant making someone smile.
Frank tried to be everything people needed from him—a confidant, a cheerleader, a source of laughter—and often succeeded simply by being himself. His warmth and humor left lasting impressions on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
May the memory of Mr. Frank Dempsey Sartor, Jr. bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire love, laughter, and faith in their hearts. A Memorial Service will be held on July 25, 2025, at 12:00 PM at St. John’s Missionary Baptist Church 886 Monroe
